SHOVE Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Jayvolt ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the mobile game SHOVE (the "App"). We aim to collect as little as possible and to be honest about what we do.
SHOVE has no registration. You do not sign up, log in, or provide an email address to play. Behind the scenes the App creates an anonymous account (a random identifier with no email, name, or credentials attached) so your progress can be backed up and your leaderboard entry stays yours.
What We Collect
- Anonymous account ID. When you first open the App, our backend issues a random anonymous identifier. It contains no personal information. It is used to keep a single leaderboard row per player and to key your cloud progress backup.
- Cloud progress backup. Your best scores, coin balance, day streak, games played, owned cosmetics, unlocked achievements, and lifetime play statistics (for example, tiles cleared) are mirrored to our backend under your anonymous account ID so your progress can survive app updates and reinstalls.
- Optional display name. If you choose to appear on the leaderboard, you may type a display name (free text, up to 16 characters). This is entirely optional and does not need to be your real name. Display names are shown publicly on leaderboards.
- Gameplay scores. When a game ends, the App may submit your score, the game mode, the turn count, and your equipped cosmetic (avatar frame and title) to our leaderboard backend, so your entry can display them. Submission is best effort and happens only at game over.
- On-device data. Settings, saved runs, and purchase entitlements are stored locally on your device.
We do not collect your email, contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, or any login credentials. The App does not currently include any analytics SDK.
How We Use This Information
- To display global and daily leaderboards.
- To keep one leaderboard entry per player using the anonymous account ID.
- To back up and restore your game progress across updates, reinstalls, and devices.
- To save your preferences, best scores, and purchases so the App works as expected.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or tracking.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase (leaderboards and cloud backup). Leaderboard data (anonymous account ID, optional display name, score, mode, turn count, equipped cosmetic) and your cloud progress backup are stored by our backend hosted on Supabase, a managed PostgreSQL provider.
- Google AdMob (ads), if enabled. If advertising is enabled in a future release, Google AdMob may be used to serve ads. Ad networks may collect device identifiers and similar data to deliver and measure ads, in accordance with their own privacy policies.
- In-app purchases, if enabled. If in-app purchases are enabled, they are processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the Samsung Galaxy Store, with entitlement management via RevenueCat. Payment processing is handled by the relevant store, and we do not receive your full payment details.
Features noted as "if enabled" are planned and may be turned on before or after launch. This policy will reflect their status at any given time.
Data Retention and Deletion
Leaderboard and cloud backup data are retained so leaderboards remain meaningful and your progress survives updates.
You can delete everything yourself, inside the App: tap your name, then Delete my data. This permanently removes your cloud progress backup and all of your leaderboard entries from our servers, erases all locally stored data, and restarts the App with a fresh anonymous identity. This cannot be undone.
You can also request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected] (please include your display name so we can locate your entry). Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
Children's Privacy
SHOVE is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. If we ever target or knowingly serve children under 13, additional protections would apply, including compliance with COPPA and the use of age-appropriate ad settings with non-personalized ads. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
